1. What this policy covers

1.1 This policy explains cookies and similar browser storage used with protso.com. Cookies are small values a browser exchanges with a website. Local storage and session storage are saved in the browser and can serve similar purposes even though they are not ordinary cookies. The Privacy Policy explains the related processing of personal information.

2. Customer access and payment-result storage

2.1 protso-customer-session — session storage used after customer verification to maintain authorised access to the customer area. It is cleared by the logout flow and normally ends with the tab’s session. Browser session restoration can preserve session storage. The server can reject an expired or revoked session even if its browser entry remains.

2.2 protso-checkout:<reference> — session storage used to retain the proof needed to retrieve the corresponding checkout result. It normally lasts for the tab’s session, subject to browser restoration. Removing it does not cancel the payment or reservation, but can prevent that tab from retrieving the result.

2.3 protso-agency-session-v1 — session storage for authorised access to the agency area. It is removed on logout and normally ends with the tab’s session, subject to browser restoration. These access and checkout functions are needed for the account or payment-result service you request.

3. Currency preference

3.1 protso-currency — local storage used to remember the displayed currency. It can be set when the currency controls initialise, when you change currency or when a currency is supplied in the relevant search link. It has no automatic expiry in the current implementation and remains until replaced or cleared.

3.2 This value contains the currency code; it is not an advertising identifier. You can change the displayed currency through the site’s controls. Clearing it returns subsequent visits to the applicable default or search setting. Essential access storage and a convenience preference are different purposes; neither grants permission for unrelated tracking.

4. Payment and other external services

4.1 If you proceed to Stripe checkout, Stripe may use its own cookies or similar technologies for payment functionality, fraud prevention and other purposes explained in its notice. See https://stripe.com/cookie-settings and https://stripe.com/privacy. Stripe’s changing cookie names and lifetimes are described by Stripe; they are not the Protso storage entries listed above.

4.2 Address suggestions use our service connection to Google-derived place data. Some pages also request images or fonts from external hosts. An external network request can transmit connection information even without creating a cookie. See the Privacy Policy for these recipients. Browser extensions, signed-in external services and the page or function you visit can affect what your browser shows.

5. Optional tracking and consent

5.1 The account, checkout and currency entries above do not constitute permission to use optional advertising or analytics storage. Where optional storage requires consent, it must not be activated before a valid choice; rejecting it must not prevent use of an unrelated essential service. A link to this policy, continued browsing or acceptance of booking terms is not consent to optional tracking.

5.2 Any optional tracking introduced in future must be described with its purpose, provider and lifetime and supported by a way to refuse it and withdraw consent. This policy does not claim that clearing browser storage prevents every form of server-side logging or all processing by an external payment page.

6. How to control or remove storage

6.1 Use your browser’s site-data controls to inspect, block or clear cookies, local storage and session storage for protso.com. Blocking necessary storage can prevent login or payment-result access. Clearing stored data does not itself cancel a booking, reverse a payment or erase information held in our booking system.

6.2 Use Logout before leaving a shared device. Private browsing and session-restoration behaviour vary by browser. If a payment result becomes unavailable, contact team@protso.com with the booking or payment reference; do not send card security codes or passwords.
